I assume you are talking about Midwest Microphone's volume box.
I have one and love it. It's lightweight and clips on my pocket like a cel
phone. I use it for a biscuit shell with a CM element in it and a Shure 544
with a dynamic element (both mics were modded to take 1/4" female jacks). I
had a cut-off switch added as well which is nice for switching mics. I just
pop the button to shut off the volume box and viola! no speaker boom when
you pull the cord out. Tell Larry what type of mic/element you are going to
use it with and he will outfit it for that type specifically.
